Easy to Use Cricut Cutting Guide | Free Printable

Sharing is caring!

The more I use my Cricut Explore Air 2, the more I need a way to remember little tips and tricks to help me. Here is my easy-to-use Cricut cutting guide.

I’m not sure why, but it seems like everyone uses a different cut setting for a variety of materials. There are just so many things to remember.

There is a bit of experimenting and trial and error involved in finding the right setting for cutting. Sometimes it is very specific due to the brand of material you are using. For instance, I have HTV (heat transfer vinyl) from a couple of sources – one is noticeably thicker than the other and so I actually have to use a different cut setting for each. Even cardstock comes in a variety of thicknesses, requiring different cut settings. How do you keep track of all this?

If you’re like me, you have all these little pieces of paper around with little notes that you’ve jotted down to remember what setting you’ve used so that in future you don’t have to experiment again. Sound familiar?

So I created a handy Cricut Cutting Guide that allows you to write all these settings down in one place.  I keep this sheet in a page protector. It is a handy way to keep the information together in one spot, on one sheet.  I keep mine by my Cricut so that I remember to change the setting (I have, on more than one occasion, just sent something through to cut without even thinking about the setting and so it cut just on whatever I happened to do before!).

It is a very basic table that lists a number of commonly used products, plus plenty of blank spaces for you to add on your own. Next, to the product, I’ve written down the brand so that I can remember which cut setting this applies to.  I also have reminders of when you need to mirror your image.   There’s a column for the type of mat to use and since some products require the deep cut I’ve included a column for that too. The more details you note down the less chance of wasting materials due to error.
